thankyou to all who came to monkeylogic party @ blue mountain! it was loads of
fun to put on and everyone who i spoke to was having a wickeed time :) hope you
enjoyed all the live music, morganism's and subliminal system's (my) set went
off very well with only a few minor hitches... shame the same could not be said
of the remote control badger discotheque set - still think it went ok, and rcbd
will definitely return at some point. i'll put photos and a proper review up on
the parties page soon. in the meantime there are photos from the party at
psypix and on kate's
photo website
anyway, the reason for the delay in updating the website is that i've just got
back from las vegas where i spent a week with work doing a trade show. amongst
other things (mainly drinking, smoking and gambling ;) we went to see the 'blue
man group' show at the luxor. very interesting show, with some cool live
percussion and sync'd visuals, definitely got some ideas for the next
monkeylogic party...
15.03.05
as you may have noticed from the new front page, we're putting a party on! the
emphasis is on live music and performance, and we have 4 storming live acts
playing in the main room! we have black cadillac coming from london, and 3 new
live acts from bristol. the music will be mostly psytrance, but there will be
some very interesting electro / breakbeat (and other :) influenced music being
played live too, as well as rocking dj sets from the phar-psyde crew...

19.01.05 update
i've finally finished my latest tune, called plan b. you can download it from
my tunes page also just worked out the
proper hard disk recording section on fruityloops, which combined with the new
logic-style automation of fl studio 5 and stylus vst percussion has been making
it all sound better!
i've also added some other new tunes - there's a new tune from
rantici, and, finally, 3 tunes from oaf. none of
oaf's tunes are new but i thought some of them needed to be put on the net!
look out for some new stuff in the future though (there's no excuse now eh? :)

thoughts go out to everyone caught up in this tragic event, and especially to
charlotte's family...
23.11.04
the phar-psyde website is now up, check it out:
www.phar-psyde.co.uk. phar-psyde is a collaboration of psytrance djs
and artists, loosly based around bristol. we've got a compilation album of our
music available for (high quality) download from the website, and 2 confirmed
club nights before christmas - december 4th @ tramps in plymouth (morganism,
loke and gacid + residents at digital blasphemy) and december 18th @ the
rocket, london (black cadillac, epsilon, loke, psyfer and gacid) hosted by
tribal shamanix. expect some parties in bristol and beyond in the new year too,
with some live shenanigans from me...
24.09.04
latest tune, called unknown unknowns, is now up see my tunes page -
evil will. it features the vocal talents of none other than mr donald
rumsfeld himself. (though i'm not sure he'd approve :)
(and my new pc is so much better - tunes that previously didn't even play
without stuttering now use about 25% of the processor power...)
23.09.04
some of kate's boom photos are up now on the parties page,
they'll be more from rudi and rob soon. some of rob's glastonbury photos should
be making an appearance soon too. some of the photos from my birthday party
will be put up, once i've sorted through them (and removed the ones where i
look far too mashed :) also, new tune should be finished next week, as long as
i can get my shiny new pc to work... (3.2Ghz P4, mmmmmmmm)
19.08.04
new tune, isra, now up for download on my tunes page (evil
will). it's quite infected mushroom-y, but with some breakbeat bits and
nasty high pass filtered filth that infected mushroom probably wouldn't do! and
no lame israli vocals either ;)
02.08.04
as well as tunes by me (evil will),
monkeylogic is now hosting some of the latest tunes by rantici
and morganism. these two guys have been writing
psytrance for a few years now, and it's all good... download tracks from the
tune page or by using the links above. morganism is also working on the
website for phar-psyde (and its looking good :), a collaboration of much that
is good in the psytrance world... expect more details soon...
22.07.04
yay! i'm going to portugal for the
boom festival at the end of august. just got my ticket from
chaos unlimited and booked flights and time off :) haven't been
anywhere hot or abroad for ages so i'm really looking forward to this, it's
going to be great! 5 days of electronic dance music in the sun in portugal, and
the location, right next to a lake near lisbon, looks stunning...
20.07.04 update
none in three months, then two updates in a day... there are now some photos up
of glade (including some slightly dubious ones of me) at my mates website.
there's a link to the pictures and a video
here. there's also some glade info on the parties
page
20.07.04
well, bit of a long gap since the last update on the news section, due to a
combination of lots of work, lots of fun, and a certain amount of lazyness!
three amazing things have happened in the last month though - my first
glastonbury, the first ever
glade festival, and sudeki
is finally finished!
sudeki was finished a couple of weeks back, and we passed cert (first time!)
the week after glastonbury. the game is released today in america, and will be
released on the 27th of august in europe. finally some of my work makes it to
the shops :)
glastonbury and glade were both amazing fun, great music at both, and lots of
interesting people. there's some more info about glastonbury at the
parties page, and there will hopefully be some photos up there soon
(you got them developed yet rob?). there will be quite a lot of photos and
videos from glade around too, so hopefully dan and kate will let me put some
bits and pieces up.
just got back to work today after glade festival, and it is hard being back in
front of a computer after the amazing amount of fun i had this weekend...
already decided the only way forward is to go to boom festival in portugal in a
month's time. tickets still on sale until the end of the month, so going to
sort it out soon.
28.04.04
updated version of "the secret raving of mr ben" now on the tunes page, with
some of the levels sorted. (and some made a bit worse - probably going to
another version before its finished).
got my ticket for the glade festival, also may be playing a live set in bristol
later this year, but details of that if it gets confirmed...
22.04.04
the first version of my latest tune is now up. it's not quite finished but it's
pretty much there. (just a few levels to adjust and stuff) find it at the top
of the tunes page, it's called "the secret raving of
mr ben". i've also added some bits and pieces to the site (new stuff on the
info page) and there's now an evil will subdomain,
www.evilwill.monkeylogic.co.uk though there's not much there yet.
hopefully it will be the first of many... (oktal, the oaf, morganism perhaps?)
21.04.04
added some content to the parties page - some old
photos and a load of flyers from the nights i've been involved with. might add
some more photos from other events if i can find any appropriate ones...
09.04.04
just put loads more tunes up for download. lots of older trance tunes, a couple
of drum n bass tunes (one written in collaboration with dj pinch) and some live
stuff. (live from the kitchen of 295 gloucester road!)
also, just been looking at www.gladefestival.com.
this is going to be phat! the lineup is amazing... looks like i'm going to two
festivals this summer :)
07.04.04 - Glastonbury!
so, tickets have come and gone, and quite a few people actually managed to get
one. no thanks to the ticket system though - i don't know a single person who
got a ticket the proper way. everyone either used the direct link for the
website that went around, or phoned the internation ticket line. as far as i
know, no-one got through to the actual ticket phone line...
bristol people going:
me, greg, kate, gaz, ryan, sarah, plus some others who are working there
london people going:
henry, chris mc, chris mower + people (8 or so), the ginger twins
should be a few of us then - we should make our own bit of glastonbury at the
campsite...
10.03.04
just got all of of infected mushroom's albums on cd. (listened to so much of
their stuff on mp3 that it seemed only fair!) whilst they're all good - i like
the new album (though i've yet to listen to the 2nd cd) - classical mushroom is
the best of their albums by a mile. goes down as one of my favourite albums of
all time, defintely the best trance album i've heard. every song is so damn
good...
09.03.04
proper actual definitely finished version of subliminal system up now - after
listening to the last version a few times over i needed to change a few levels
around. pretty sure that it is done now...
07.03.04
new version of subliminal system is up, this is the actual finished one this
time. (tunes) actually tried spending some time on
final production - eq compression and stuff, chopped it all together with
soundforge and cubase. also added some extra filth to the end part of the tune,
and some nice portamento here and there. enjoy...
02.03.04
finally got my latest tune finished (well pretty much finished anyway). it's
available on the tunes page. also put new versions of
my other trance tunes up, having just found the normalise using rms power
function in soundforge. finally getting those levels up to where they should
be.
24.02.04
i've done nothing musically for days, not good. 2 reasons for this, firstly
sudeki is progressing towards some important deadlines and so we're all working
flat out at the moment. the second reason is the weekend was the most drunken
i've had in a long time. friday and saturday night were both very silly, i'm
blaming the visit of john shave. all good though really!
hence no new tunes or anything new on the website. should be some more linked
websites soon though, ryan's band (now called the dukes of dirt) is getting a
website, as is henry in london and rudi here in portsmouth should be setting
one up soon too. links as they arrive...
18.02.04
three new tunes are up, all new to this website. (see the tunes
section) my two latest trance tunes are there, (though the very latest
isn't as it's not yet finished), and my most recent drum n bass tune. (200bpm
technical itch style rudeness anyone?).
many older tunes still to post, though i haven't decide on how it's all going
to look yet. i'll probably have an archive page with the older tunes in
addition to the main page with my current stuff. i'd also like to host some
tunes by the oaf/oktal/morganism etc, but i'll have to see if they think the
public is ready for any of their tunes!
16.02.04
sion is coming to bristol - yay! met him this weekend as he was back on the
south coast over half term, and he's going to move back to bristol in september
this year. he wants to live with someone he knows, so rob, ryan etc might want
to think aboot this. all good.
on the tune front, still none on this website (that'll get done sometime this
week), but i've nearly finished my latest tune, a mix of drum n bassy breakbeat
and psi-trance in triplets. it will all be up here when it's done...
12.02.04
got the forum working now. i must recommend the
software - phpBB2 - that i'm using. it was really easy to setup, took me about
half an hour to get the whole thing up and running online. freeware open-source
software is the way to go!
10.02.04
i'm going to keep this news section up-to-date with news from the life of will,
just in case anyone cares :) at the moment i'm working in portsmouth on an xbox
game by the name of sudeki. the game is going to be released soon, and us
programmers have got loads of work to do, fixing bugs and generally getting the
game to the point where it can hit the shops. so it may be some time before all
the bits of this website actually work!
i'm also going to keep the parties section current with what we've been doing,
and hopefully get some silly photos to put there too...
09.02.04
new web site is up, just about. it doesn't all work yet, and is very much under
contruction. features that will be added include a proper forum using phpBB,
new tunes by me, evil will, some vst development stuff hopefully including the
mighty mook synth, and a (possibly private) place for people to upload new
tunes / work in progress so we can share our stuff more easily.
